Vin Santo "Dante"

Vin Santo is named after "Grandfather Dante," the founder of the company, who used to offer his beloved "Vinsantino" to everyone. Made from a blend of Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes, it is still vinified and aged according to the old traditional method: the healthiest bunches are hand-harvested and left to dry on mats for four months. Fermentation takes place in small oak barrels (caratelli) in the “vinsantaia,” where the maturation process continues for three years. It reaches an alcohol content of around 16 degrees and is available in 0.500-liter bottles. It has an amber color with a beautiful liveliness. The aroma is of dried fruit, almonds, and dried figs, complemented by hints of honey. On the palate, it is characterized by a rich and velvety attack, dry for dessert, and is best served with biscotti or strong cheeses.
