Our history

Bruscola is located in the heart of the Chianti wine region, just outside of Florence and close to Siena and Pisa. Since the 70s, this family-run business aims to share the values and the knowledge of farming culture.

The farm is born of grandpa Dante’s tenacity, who refused to keep working under sharecropping and together with grandma Torellina decided to fulfil their dream of owning their own farmland. The permanent exhibition displays farming tools, photos, letters, postcards which retrace the 20th Century customs and traditions of the family.

Tastings

We will guide you through the ancient part of the wine and oil cellars – still used nowadays – and we will let you taste our wines, from the Chianti Classico DOCG to the barriccato, the Vin Santo DOC (Tuscan dessert wine) and our quality extra virgin olive oil.

A blast from the past

A permanent exhibition displays traditional farming tools once used in the wheat, wine and oil supply chain: even the names of our wines originate from the tools displayed in this "small museum" which tells the story of our family and our land.

Breath-taking views

We own 3 hectares of land which surround the property and are mostly cultivated with San Giovese, Cabernet and Colorino. The olive trees grow in 3 additional hectares of fields which interchange harmoniously with the vineyards.

Our hospitality

Hospitality is one of our dominant values, a virtue we inherited from the farming culture: accommodations keep the name of the activities which were once performed in this 16th Century farmhouse spaces (“Frantoio” oil mill, “Orciaia”, oil cellar, “Limonaia”, lemon house, “Appassitoio”, drying room, “Telaio”, loom).
